The Epica Muddler

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

The muddler  is best known as a bartender's tool because it was mainly used in bars to mix the fresh ingredients into the bar drinks. Today muddlers are used in everyday kitchen so that the cook can get the most out of their fresh herbs and some fruits. Some use a muddler in place of a  mortar and pestle. They use muddlers in place of a mortal and pestle for many reasons: takes up less space, cheaper, easier to clean, and in some cases a bit faster to use. How a muddler is used is if you have an ingredient that needs crushed, such as a fruit, herb or spice. A great example of a good muddler is The Epica Muddler. The Epica Muddler is very inexpensive at only $8.95. It has several features to make it a good muddler. It is fast to use and does it's job at crushing the ingredient to release the most flavor. It features a durable, heavy-duty, stainless steel, ergonomic handle. Because the handle is stainless steel it is stain resistant. The head of the muddle, which is made of nylon, has a gridded surface so that you achieve a finer mash with less work but because it is nylon it won't scratch your glass or other surface. It is dishwasher safe, although they recommend that you hand wash The Epica Muddler. Also you don't have to be strong or use a lot of force to use this muddler. Just apply a little bit of pressure to bring the best flavor out of whatever your crushes for your recipe.

Like I said at the beginning of the post, the muddle best known as a bartender's tool because it is commonly used in bars to make drinks such as mint juleps. But don't close your mind to the idea of using a muddler at home in your kitchen for making all sorts of yummy creations. Some ideas could be making drinks, dips, sauces and marinades.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. I forgot to add measurements to my review. The height of the Epica Stainless Steel & Gridded Nylon Cocktail Muddler is 8 inches exactly. In case you are wondering the width it is just shy of 1 1/4 inch at the widest point.
